SUNDAY SERVICE

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. HEBREWS 10:25

Hope EFC is not big on programmes. We maintain only essential services and meetings, all of which are intentionally family-friendly with children remaining with their parents as far as possible. Worship Service is informal but structured, and exposition of the Word is emphasized.

of the Month, open to all who have placed their

DISCIPLESHIP GROUP

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. EPHESIANS 2:19-22

Discovering God’s purpose for our lives is not just a personal pursuit. It always includes understanding God’s bigger picture, which includes his plan for the Church. One of the best ways to grow in this direction is to belong to a small group fellowship.

Small groups enable members to connect and participate in body-life more intimately. It also offers a safe place to disciple one another intentionally. This is why we call these groups
Discipleship Groups or DGs. Our groups gather at different times and in different locations for fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Here are our current groups:

Shalom DG
Faith DG
Joy DG
Praise DG
Agape DG
Chanan-El DG
Charis DG
Koinonia DG

PARENTING

You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up. DEUTERONOMY 11:19

Hope EFC is a family-centred church. We acknowledge our responsibility to nurture families and equip parents so they may be able to disciple their own children. While almost all of our church activities are inter-generational, we do make time for parents and families to dialogue and share their parenting experiences in the light of Scripture.

PARENTING GOD’S WAY

This is a monthly session held to encourage families with young children. Parents learn how to apply Scripture and support one another in their parenting journey. Lessons are based on Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo’s book, Growing Kids God’s Way.

CHILDREN’S BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

J.I Packer wrote in his 2013 book, Taking God Seriously: Vital Things We Need to Know that churches today should discover afresh the tradition of Catechisis. This is instruction by word of mouth through the “repetition of established statements of faith to ground our hearts in unchanging truths.” Children of mixed ages join this session based on the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

ALPHA COURSE

The Alpha course leads seekers through a series of talks and discussions on the basics of Christian faith. Hope conducts these 10-week courses at the request of seekers and visitors. There is no fee, no tests, and no pressure. Participants complete the course with a clearer picture of what Christians believe.

THE MARRIAGE COURSE

Alpha Marriage Course offers a series of 7 sessions to strengthen relationships and build strong marriages. It is based on Christian principles but designed for couples with or without a church background. The setting for Alpha Marriage Course is intentionally cozy and warm. Couples sit by themselves in a small group to better discuss and explore the lessons presented. There is no group therapy or airing of dirty linen and no awkward intrusion of privacy.
